Aliases

Alias options can be accessed from the Options > Aliases menu.

Aliases allow users to receive mail destined for multiple addresses by masquerading as different people or departments. Aliases also allow several users to receive mail for a single address. For example, an alias of sales could be setup with so that users Administrator and boris would both receive mail addressed to sales@company.co.uk.

Adding an Alias:

  1. Enter the name of the new alias, e.g. 'sales', in the 'Name of new alias' field and click the Add button. You should note that you do not need to add the '@' sign or the domain name in this field.
  2. The alias will appear in the Currently Assigned Aliases listbox.
  3. To add a recipient to the new alias, click and hold the left mouse button over the user you wish to add from the right hand window and drag the user onto the newly created alias. Repeat the process to add multiple users to an alias.
