CMail Server is capable of logging general system,
POP3 and SMTP events that take place in the application to report files. These files can
be useful in troubleshooting CMail if problems should arise.

Local SMTP Events
Events which concern the SMTP protocol on the Local Area Network. For example, a local
user sending mail to CMail Server.
Local POP3 Events
Events which concern the POP3 protocol on the Local Area Network. For example, a local
user collecting mail from CMail Server.
Remote SMTP Events
Events which concern the SMTP protocol between CMail and the Internet. For example, an
Internet mail server sending mail to CMail Server.
Local POP3 Events
Events which concern the POP3 protocol between CMail and the Internet. For example, CMail
collecting mail from an Internet mail server.
System Events
The system events log contains information which does not fit into the other log files.
Logging Events
To enable or disable logging check the checkboxes next to the events you wish to
log. Logs can be viewed or deleted using the relevant buttons.
New log files are started on a daily basis and are
kept on the system for the amount of time specified in the Keep realtime log for x days
field. Archived logs will be deleted after the amount of time specified in the Delete
archive files after x days field.
Note: On large installations of
CMail, log files can grow to a large size very quickly. It is recommended that logging
only be enabled for troubleshooting purposes.
Disk Space Management
Disk Space Management is a system designed to monitor free diskspace on the partition
that CMail Server is installed upon. If the amount of free space reaches the level defined
by the Administrator then a number of actions can be performed. The minimum amount of free
disk space is defined in the Min space required for server field.
Shutdown SMTP Services
CMail will suspend SMTP services preventing incoming mail being received from local
clients and the Internet. CMail will continue to monitor diskspace once every minute. If
the amount of free space increases above the minimum required, SMTP services will
automatically be resumed and the Administrator notified by email that the service has
restarted.
Email notify Adminstrator
When this option is enabled, CMail will send a notification to the Administrator every
time it polls the hard disk for the amount of free disk space and the level is below the
amount specified in the 'Min space required for server' field.
