Checking for TCP/IP

In order for CMail Server to work correctly, it is necessary that workstations connected to the Local Area Network use the TCP/IP protocol to send and receive data.

1. Click on the Windows 'Start' button.
2. Select Settings and then Control Panel from the Start Menu.  
3. Locate and double click on the Network icon to launch the Network Configuration Menu.
4. TCP/IP is installed on the system if it appears in the networking components list.

Important Note: If Dial-Up Networking has been installed previously, TCP/IP may already be listed in the components list. In this case, installing TCP/IP again will bind it to the Ethernet adapter allowing different properties to be set for the Dial-Up Adapter and the LAN.
