| Virus Control Enabling Virus Control
Once you have loaded a profile you can either enable virus control on a per-user basis
or on a global basis where every user on the system uses the same anti virus profile as
the Administrator.
Virus Control is enabled from the
Advanced properties of the User Preferences menu:
Double click on the Administrator
in the CMail console to open User Preferences. (If you have renamed the
Administrator mailbox, click on the first user in the user list.)
Click the Advanced button.
The virus control section is located in
the middle of the Advanced User Properties menu.
Tick the checkbox labeled Users Mail is
checked by virus control to enable scanning for the Administrator.
Check the box labeled Attempt to clean
infected file.
You can also tick the other boxes
displayed under When suspected virus is found to get CMail to perform various
actions when a virus is detected. A full description of these options is listed here.
Click OK.
Click OK.
Click File followed by Save
Settings.
Virus scanning is now enabled for the
Administrator only. If you wish all other users on the system to use the Administrator
profile for virus scanning:
Click Options followed by Virus
Control.
Tick the box labeled Impose Global
Virus Control located in the top right of the virus control menu.
Click OK.
Click File followed by Save
Settings.
Virus scanning will now be enabled for every
user on the system. To be sure this is the case, open the user preferences menu for a user
other than the Administrator and click Advanced. The checkboxes under the Virus Control
section will be greyed out but a checkmark will be visible if the option has been enabled
in the Administrator profile.
To enable virus scanning on an individual
basis, ensure that Impose Global Virus Control is unchecked on the Virus Control menu and
then configure each user individually as you did for the Administrator profile:
Double click on the relevant user in the
CMail console to open User Preferences.
Click the Advanced button.
The virus control section is located in
the middle of the Advanced User Properties menu.
Tick the checkbox labeled Users Mail is
checked by virus control to enable scanning for the Administrator.
You can also tick the boxes displayed
under When suspected virus is found to get CMail to perform various actions when a
virus is detected. A full description of these options is listed here.
Click OK.
Click OK.
Click File followed by Save
Settings.
