| Advanced User Preferences Advanced User Preferences define the options for Virus Control,
Content Control and Web Interface user rights on a per user basis. Advanced User
Preferences can be accessed by double clicking a username in the Console Window or
selections Options > User Preferences and then clicking the Advanced button.

The Advanced User Preferences menu is split
into three sections. The first section deals with Content
Control, the second with Virus Control and the third with
Web Interface user rights.
Note: If any of the checkboxes appear to
be disabled, you have enabled the Global profile for that group of options and the
settings will be taken from the Administrator profile.
Content
Control is used to scan messages for offending words, phrases or banned file
types.
Users Mail is checked by content control
Turns on Content Control for this user profile. This users email will be scanned for
content violations. Any messages that violate content control will not be delivered.
Scan inbound email messages
Incoming mail messages addressed to this user will be scanned for content violations
when enabled.
Scan outbound email messages
Outgoing mail messages sent by this user will be scanned for content violations when
enabled.
Send Copy to Administrator
If banned or restricted content is discovered in an email message, CMail will send a
copy of the violation to the Administrators mailbox.
Inform sender of violation
CMail will send a notification informing the user that a violation has occurred
addressed from the Content Control Subsystem.
Raise a Visual Alert
A message box will appear on the console screen informing the Administrator that there
has been a content violation.
Virus
Control is used to scan email messages and attachments for the presence of
viruses.
Users Mail is checked by Virus Control
Enables the Virus Control system for this user profile. All email sent and received by
this user will be scanned by the Anti Virus engine defined in Virus
Control.
Send Report to Administrator
If a suspected virus is detected, CMail will email the report file generated by the
virus scanner to the Administrator.
Try to clean the infected file
CMail will instruct the virus scanner to try to disinfect the file containing the
virus. If this operation is successful, CMail will forward the 'clean' copy of the message
to the user. If the clean is unsuccessful, the file attachment will be deleted.
Inform Sender of Virus
If this option is enabled, CMail will send a message to the sender of the message
stating that the email they sent contained a virus.
Raise a Visual Alert
A message box will appear on the console screen informing the Administrator that a
virus has been detected.
Web
Interface defines the rights that this user has when using CMail Server's Web
Interface.
User can use the Web Interface
Allows the user to access the Web Interface mail client of CMail Server. If this is
disabled, the user will receive an error message after entering their username and
password.
User can send external email
With this option disabled, the user can only send email to domains that appear in the
Hosts/Domains list defined in the Host Configuration menu. Enabled, the user can send
email to any address in the world.
User can send Attachments
With this option enabled, users can attach files to messages and send them through the
Web Interface. When this option is disabled, users can only send ordinary messages without
attachments.
User can Receive Attachments
If this option is enabled, the user will be allowed to receive attachments. If it is
disabled, any attachments will be stripped from the message.
User can add to the public address book
If this option is enabled, the user can add entries to the public address book which
is shared by all Web Interface users.
