Network Configuration (Windows 9x) To install TCP/IP support, Windows has to copy some core networking files
from it's CD to the hard disk. It is extremely important that the version of Windows on
the CD that these files are taken from is exactly the same Operating System version and
revision that is installed on your computer to avoid conflicts. If you are unsure of the
versions, contact your Network Administrator.
To Install TCP/IP:
- Click Start
- Select Settings
- Select Control Panel
- Double click the Network icon with the left
mouse button.

- Click Add...

- Highlight Protocol
- Click Add...

- Select Microsoft from Manufacturers
- Select TCP/IP from Network Protocols
- Click OK.
- You will be returned to the List of Installed Network
Components dialog and TCP/IP will appear in the list.
- Make sure that your Windows CD is in the CD drive and click OK
to exit the Network menu.
- Windows will copy the files it needs and then prompt you to
restart your computer.
- After the computer has restarted see TCP/IP
Configuration for more information about making your computer visible to the network.
