FTP Client Configuration Tutorial
Software Title: Bullet Proof FTP
Version: 1.15

FTP or File Transfer Protocol is the most common and popular method of transferring files around the Internet, especially web pages from client to server. This tutorial covers the configuration of Bullet Proof FTP for use with CProxy Server. Before continuing, you should ensure that you know the IP address of the CProxy Server, the port number of the FTP protocol (default 1021) and you have logged into the CProxy Server with a web browser if logins are enabled on the system.

Note: Bullet Proof FTP does not appear to support Proxy Open which is the FTP standard used by CProxy FTP and therefore, use of Bullet Proof FTP through CProxy is limited to HTTP proxy only.

Firewall/Proxy Configuration

  1. Open Bullet Proof FTP in the normal manner.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Select General Options.
  4. Click Firewall.
  5. Click on the HTTP tab.

  1. Check 'Enable HTTP Firewall/Proxy'.
  2. Enter the IP address of the proxy server in the 'Host' field.
  3. Enter the HTTP FTP port (not the real FTP port) into the 'Port' field. (8080 default).
  4. Press OK.
  5. Connect to an FTP site to complete the configuration.

Nothing happens? Bullet Proof FTP does not appear to support Proxy OPEN which is the standard used by CProxy to pass FTP requests on to an origin server and therefore you must use the HTTP Proxy rather than the FTP Proxy with this program.
